bobi

My grandmother Shoshana Kahn, née Rose Sachs, who I called bobi and lived four blocks from us in Brooklyn, passed in the fall of 2018. A holocaust survivor, she shared her stories with me, wrote them in text, and had shared her testimony for the Shoah foundation. I photographed and recorded audio of her during the last years of her life. As more material emerges, I continue to photograph “her” through permanent objects, some of which appears in my project “don’t forget to take this with you.” A memoir of her story is forthcoming.
